Scholarships

To be awarded to a first year student on the basis of scholarship and financial need.

a) To be awarded to the students taking the highest places in Corporate Income Taxation and Civil Procedure II. b) To be awarded to students obtaining honours in the annual examinations of the first year.

To be awarded based on academic performance to a second year medical student enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine's "Community, Population and Public Health -2" course and will be granted to the recipient upon entrance to their clerkship in year three of the MD program.

Two annual awards of $500 each have been established by the F.C.C.P. (Ontario) Education Foundation. These will be given to (1) the most outstanding student in Dental Anatomy & Occlusion in first year; and (2) the most outstanding student in Clinical and Theoretical Periodontics in third year. First awarded in 1986.

Awarded to an undergraduate student entering third or fourth year who (i) is enrolled in a program sponsored by the Social Sciences Department with preference given to a student enrolled in a Political Science Program, (ii) is involved in extracurricular/community activity and (iii) has shown outstanding improvement in his/her academic standing while studying under challenging personal circumstances

Awarded to an outstanding student in the Undergraduate/Graduate Opera program.

Awarded to one or more exceptional UTM student(s) pursuing undergraduate studies with a major in GIS or a major/specialist in Geography with demonstrated excellence in geostatistics and remote sensing. Students awarded this scholarship will be encouraged to share their knowledge and demonstrate leadership through participation in a student conference or presentation.

Awarded to the top student in a Hungarian history class.

Awarded to a student entering first year of Civil Engineering on the basis of academic achievement, financial need. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate leadership in the community.

Eligible applicants must: - be entering the second year of their first bachelor degree on a Full time basis - have Canadian citizenship or permanent residency in the year of application; - have completed the first year of their first bachelor degree program in a Canadian educational institution; - have attained a high academic standing as defined by the nominating institution; - be nominated by a Canadian educational institution where the first year of the first bachelor degree studies has been completed.
