Jennifer Houwer (Kadwell) received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy in 2011. She determinedly battled Hodgkin's lymphoma throughout most of her studies, and passed away in October 2012. Holly Pietowski (MacDonald) was pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree when she passed away in August 2011. Family and friends of Jennifer and Holly established the Jennifer Houwer (Kadwell) and Holly Pietowski (MacDonald) Memorial Award in their memory. It will be awarded to one student in the Doctor of Pharmacy program who demonstrates exceptional vision and outstanding leadership through volunteer service to the community (outside of the Faculty, but within the University), has played on at least one intramural sports team and has a cumulative GPA of 2.7. Students are only eligible to receive this award once.
